Our Founder
Founder and Marketing Director
Marissa Beck is the founder and administrator of Optiquest Resources a health care personnel company headquartered in New York. Since she started the company, it has grown in significantly and now has several placements of nurses, physical therapists, and other medical personnel in clinics, nursing homes and hospitals in New York and New Jersey. Educated and trained as a nurse in the Philippines, Marissa immigrated to Canada in 1970 and then in the U.S. in 1971. She worked full time as psychiatric nurse until 1993 when severe back problem ended her career. She was disabled for two years and it was during that time a new career opened for her as a financial advisor of a major insurance company. Being a natural leader and people drawer, her per eminence in the new endeavor was inevitable.
Year before, she had helped physical therapists get jobs with chiropractors and clinics who sought her out for referrals. It dawned on her that she could provide the assistance and service to both sides on a grander scale and ear a living on the side. Optiquest Resources grew fast as word got out that Marissa was able to secure trained medical professionals from not only her motherland but English-speaking countries such as Nigeria, India and Zambia. Marissa travels to the Philippines twice a year to personally hand pick her new recruits. At present her people are deployed in over 100 Facilities all-over the Tri-State area.
In providing medical personnel, the company is helping to fill a critical need for qualified employees in fields where there is a demonstrated shortage of personnel in the United States. The company has established a stellar reputation in the health care industry.
Marissa’s entrepreneurial skills are evident even in other Lines of business. Aside from Optiquest Resources, she also previously owned Gramercy Park Salon & Spa and Grill 21 Restaurant.
All these accomplishments did not go unnoticed. In October 2004, the Asian women in business (AWIB), a New York-based organization of Asian women honored her with an “Entrepreneurial Leadership Award”. The event is done annually to recognize the accomplishments of Asian women as successful entrepreneur and corporate executive and bring to public attention the major role Asian women play in the economic vitality of the nation.
In her personal life, Marissa is the wife of Henry Beck, formerly of the Corcoran Real Estate Group and the proud mother of two daughters, Samantha and Alana.
